Blue Carbon
Organic carbon captured and stored by marine living organisms and coastal ecosystems is known as blue carbon and includes seagrass meadows and tidal marshes as well as the carbon sequestered by the entire ocean; it plays a prominent role in addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation.
