Island Proofing
As a result of the Our Islands Our Future campaign, the UK and subsequent independent government of Scotland agreed to collaborate with the three Scottish Island Councils (representing Orkney, Shetland and Western Isles) to consider how particular measures impact on the Island areas, and when appropriate, to adjust policy or legislation to minimise negative impacts on remote island communities.
