Following improvement works, the Point of Ness campsite in Stromness has now reopened for the season. 

Orkney Islands Council’s waste team has now removed tetra pak skips from its recycling centres. This means householders should now put all ‘tetra pak’ style containers in their grey bins with other household refuse.

The links between Orkney and Norway will be further strengthened when representatives from the Council and the Orkney Norway Friendship Association attend a number of anniversary events in May to mark 750 years since the first Norwegian laws were published. 

“Dizzy” with excitement is how the Council’s Karl and Andrew Kemp are feeling at the prospect of the upcoming Eurovision competition in Sweden – after they managed to secure VIP live grand final tickets!
