Recycling update - ex-hurricane Ophelia

Recycling update - ex-hurricane Ophelia
18 October 2017

Due to the high winds brought to Orkney by ex-hurricane Ophelia, yesterday's (Tuesday 17 October) recycling collections were hampered.

Some recycling wasn't able to be collected due to the risk of wind-blown litter, especially in more remote or exposed areas.

Anyone with recycling that wasn’t collected can either take it to their local household waste recycling centre, or put any surplus recycling out at the next collection, organised into separate receptacles for each type of recyclable and in a way which is easy for waste collection staff to identify (ie in boxes or buckets, rather than bin bags).
