The Orkney Islands Council (Bridge Street, Albert Street and Laing Street, Kirkwall) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users to enable safe access and egress to No18 Bridge Street, Kirkwall, for vehicles, plant and materials in connection with the redevelopment of No18 Bridge Street, Kirkwall.

The Order will be in operation from 27 March 2023 for the period until and including 23 September 2024 and its effect will be to at times to either close, or temporarily allow traffic to travel in the opposite direction along, Albert Street (from Bridge Street to Mounthoolie Lane); Bridge Street; and Laing Street, all Kirkwall, when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed or where the traffic flow will be reversed.
