Stay Safe this Christmas

Date: 21 December 2021

Scottish Government Messages

Here are some things to remember as we go into the festive season and beyond

Get vaccinated or your booster as soon as you are offered it

The single most important thing that people can each do is get vaccinated, or get a booster. Getting fully vaccinated is the best thing any of us can do to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and the country. Individuals should also take up the flu jag if offered it, whether alongside their Covid booster or as a stand-alone vaccination.

Take regular lateral flow tests ahead of socialising or traveling

To further reduce risk over the festive period the Scottish Government is asking the public to take regular and repeated lateral flow tests, specifically to take a test before mixing with others outside of their own households.

Continue to follow the guidelines on measures you can take to stay safe

  • wear a face covering;
  • ventilate rooms;
  • work from home;
  • and wash hands regularly.
