I was born and raised in Kirkwall but have spent the last 40 years living in Toab, married to Leonora and have four children, all living and working in Orkney, plus several grandchildren.
I began my working life with an apprenticeship at Bain’s the painters before joining Royal Mail in 1983 and working there and ending up as Delivery Manager until retirement in 2021.
I am a previous Pipe Major of Kirkwall City Pipe Band and am still an active playing member and enjoy meeting old and new friends whilst playing at various locations within and out with Orkney.
In my younger days, I played football and have managed the local football team and very much enjoy watching the different age levels play now and especially the passion of the Parish Cup.
