Benefits cap
There is a limit on the total amount of benefit that most people aged 16 to 64 can receive. This is called the Benefit Cap.
Who is exempt?
You are not affected by the Benefit Cap if you or your partner receive any of the following: Working Tax Credit; Disability Living Allowance; Adult Disability Payment or Personal Independence Payment; Attendance Allowance; the support component of Employment and Support Allowance; or Industrial Injuries Benefits. You are also exempt if you are pension age.
