Adult disability payment

Adult Disability Payment (ADP) is a Scottish benefit for people aged 16 to 65 who have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability that affects their ability to carry out daily living activities or get around.

ADP replaced Personal Independence Payment (PIP) in Scotland and is administered by Social Security Scotland, not by Orkney Islands Council.

The two components

ADP has two components - daily living and mobility - each of which can be paid at a standard or enhanced rate depending on the level of support you need. An assessment of your needs will be carried out as part of your claim.
