Free period products
As an Orkney resident, you're entitled to free period products, available in many public buildings, including all council run public toilets and on internal ferry services. We want these to be as easy to access as possible, so you'll also find them in gents' toilets, since you don't need them for yourself; you're welcome to pick some up for someone else. This also helps us make access as inclusive as possible. They're available at local schools, through school nurses and health visitors, and at the Orkney Food Bank.

We're currently running a scheme allowing residents to order products online for home delivery, including a number of reusable options for those who prefer them. We hope this makes things easier for people in rural areas, where public buildings may be harder to reach. If you'd like to use this service, please order well in advance, as delivery can take up to 8 weeks.
