The countdown is on to Orkney’s second Carers Conference which takes place in Kirkwall on 27 November.

The focus for this conference will be on the local support available to unpaid carers in the community.

Carers come in all shapes and sizes, providing vital care to people with frailty and mobility and health issues, mental ill health, disabilities or addiction.

Orkney Islands Council have received an application for an occasional licence from Joanna Sinclair for North Walls Centre, Lyness.

A new exhibition at The Orkney Museum celebrates the islands' jewellery tradition, from archaeological influences to contemporary designs. The public are invited to a launch event on Saturday 15 November from 3pm to 4pm.
