The Orkney Islands Council (Kirkwall BID Canopy Lighting) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users while Orkney Builders (Contractors) Ltd replace the Kirkwall BID’s canopy lighting.

The Order will be in operation from Monday, 12 October 2026 to Sunday, 18 October 2026. The effect of the Order will be to close the roads in Kirkwall specified in the Schedule below, when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a length of road is closed.

Schedule referred to (all streets in Kirkwall)

Albert Street; Bridge Street; Bridge Street Wynd; Laing Street; Mounthoolie Lane; St Olaf’s Wynd; and Victoria Street.
