The Orkney Islands Council (A961 Churchill Barriers) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023
Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users while road maintenance works are carried out.
The Order will come into operation on Monday 18 September 2023 for the period until and including Friday 22 December 2023, and its effect will be to close the A961 from its junction with the B9052 to its junction with the Honeysgeo Road, when required. Vehicles using this stretch of road will be subject to delays and to speed limits of ten, twenty and thirty miles per hour. Vehicular traffic may also be restricted to using one lane of the carriageway. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when the road is closed.
