We manage town halls and community centres in Kirkwall and Stromness, available to hire for events, meetings and activities.

Kirkwall and St Ola Community Centre

Dating back to 1884, Kirkwall and St Ola Community Centre and Town Hall is a striking venue for weddings, concerts, dinners, training courses and conferences. It's in the centre of Kirkwall, directly opposite St Magnus Cathedral, and within walking distance of several hotels.

The main Town Hall room, with its large stained glass window and ornate decoration, is ideal for special events, seating up to 130 for a catered function. The adjoining Supper Room overlooks St Magnus Cathedral and is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. There are also three smaller meeting rooms suitable for training, presentations, parties and exhibitions, and a Games Hall suited to recreational sport.

Catering can be arranged through our in-house team or a caterer of your choice.

  • Games Hall (9.8m x 14.0m) - suitable for 5-a-side, badminton, table tennis, basketball and children's parties

Stromness Town Hall

A converted church in the heart of Stromness, the Town Hall is an excellent concert venue, seating up to 300, with modular staging and a Fazioli grand piano on site. With oak flooring and stained glass windows, it also makes a striking wedding venue.
