Children and families social work team
Our Social Work team supports children and families who need help or are at risk. We work with families to make things safer and better for children at home, in the community or in care.
We provide advice, guidance and practical and therapeutic support to children, young people and their families. We make sure children's best interests are at the centre of every decision, and we promote and advocate for their views and rights.
Where a child cannot live at home or with family, we can make alternative care arrangements - such as foster care or residential care - for as short or as long a time as needed.
We work closely with schools, health services, Police Scotland, the Children's Reporter and voluntary organisations including Relationships Scotland, Advocacy Orkney and Women's Aid.
