The Orkney Islands Council (Orkney Folk Festival) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during the Orkney Folk Festival. The Order shall be in operation from Thursday, 23 May 2024 to Monday 27 May 2024 and its effect will be to:

(1) Close Ferry Road (from Ferry Terminal carpark to Victoria Street), all Stromness, between the hours of 0800 and 2100 on 23 May 2024 to 26 May 2024; and

(2) Close (1) Victoria Street (from John Street to Church Road); and (2) John Street (from No 27 to Victoria Street), all Stromness, between the hours of 1000 and 1800 on 25 May 2024 and 26 May 2024; and

(3) Prohibit parking between 0800 on 23 May 2024 to 0800 on 27 May 2024, within (1) Victoria Street parking bays between Numbers 14 to 16; and (2) Ferry Road parking bays between Numbers 14a and 16 Victoria Street, all Stromness.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road or parking bay is closed. Emergency service vehicles are exempt from the prohibitions.
