Pickaquoy Road resurfacing works start next week

Resurfacing works are due to get underway on Pickaquoy Road in Kirkwall next week.  

The work - between Junction Road and Muddisdale Road – will be carried out in three stages under road closure conditions.  

Signposted diversions will be in place with no bus services and limited access   to Pickaquoy Road whilst the work is being undertaken – with bus services accessed via the Travel Centre or Great Western Road.  

Phase 1 of the work is between Muddisdale Road and Pickaquoy Loan  

Phase 2 of the work is between the Co-op access and the Tesco car park 

Phase 3 of the work is from the Crafty Car Park access to the Tesco car park access, with access to Lidl only  being maintained via Great Western Road 

Updates will be provided to local media, on the Council website and on OIC Roads on Facebook throughout the works.
