There are currently three Building Standards Division consultations open on the Scottish Government website which may be of interest to stakeholders of the Scottish Building Standards system.
Scottish Building Regulations: Proposed changes to Energy Standards and associated topics, including Ventilation, Overheating and Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure.

Milestone as first cruise ship docks in Orkney since the pandemic
The first cruise ship to arrive in Orkney since early last year docked in Kirkwall last week – and a second arrived at the weekend.
The Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas dominated the Kirkwall skyline throughout Friday carrying around 1,100 passengers – much less than its 4,180 capability

OIC community pandemic response shortlisted in national awards
The community resilience pandemic response work by a small team at Orkney Islands Council has been recognised at a national level.
The LGC Awards judging panel have shortlisted the Council’s entry “Orkney at its best – creating COVID solution through community” within the Community Involvement category.

Flood risk areas – share your views
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is asking the public and businesses to share their views on shaping flood risk actions and objectives for Orkney and other high-risk areas of Scotland.
SEPA has launched a joint consultation with Orkney Islands Council and other local authorities, to help shape the direction and delivery of flood risk management across the country.
