The Orkney Islands Council (Disabled On-Street Parking Places) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council proposes to make an Order under section 45 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will create disabled on-street parking places at the following locations:

35 Laverock Road, Kirkwall.

12 Strombery, Kirkwall.

16 St Rognvald Street, Kirkwall.

14 Market Green, Dounby.

Details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with copies of the relative maps, and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Customer Services, Council Offices, Kirkwall, Orkney KW15 1NY (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09:00 to 17:00 and Wednesday 10:00 to 17:00) and at Warehouse Buildings, 2-12 Victoria Street, Stromness, Orkney KW16 3AA (Mondays 09:15 to17:45, Tuesday to Friday 09:15 to 16:45 and Saturdays 11:00 to 15:45) and online at www.orkney.gov.uk.

Objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing to the Director of Neighbourhood Services and Infrastructure, Orkney Islands Council, Council Offices, Kirkwall, Orkney KW15 1NY or by email to developmentandinfrastructure@orkney.gov.uk not later than 5pm on Friday, 21 August 2026.
