How works contracts are advertised

Tenders for works above £2,000,000 are advertised on Public Contracts Scotland.

Tenders for works under £50,000 are issued directly to contractors on our approved list. Contracts between £50,000 and £2,000,000 are advertised either locally or on Public Contracts Scotland.

Registration on Public Contracts Scotland is free. To take part, contractors need to complete a project-specific European Single Procurement Document (ESPD), available on our Standard Documentation page, or an application form for works up to £50,000, downloadable from the relevant contract notice on Public Contracts Scotland.

Our Dynamic Purchasing System

We maintain an approved list of contractors for works contracts under £2,000,000, to reduce the burden of repeated paperwork for low value works. Approved contractors can apply directly for inclusion on tender lists. Contractors who aren't yet approved can still apply to join the list at any time, though they won't be invited to tender until approved.
