Marketing Support

Marketing support to individual businesses can be provided through our Flexible Business Development Grant as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

Marketing support to industry groups is provided through Orkney Marketing, which is jointly financed by Orkney Islands Council (OIC) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (Orkney and Shetland team).  For further information about HIE, please see the link on the related sites section.

Orkney Marketing

The Orkney Marketing programme exists to increase awareness of Orkney and all it has to offer, throughout the UK and beyond. The OIC and HIE funded programme manages and funds the orkney.com website and its linked social media platforms and support team.

It also helps industry groups (Orkney Food and Drink, Creative Orkney, Orkney Renewable Energy Forum and Destination Orkney) with their marketing efforts. In particular, group attendance at key events outwith Orkney, from helping to organise Orkney’s attendance at these events, to meeting the costs of professional stand design.

This joint effort ensures that Orkney has a strong impact at any event jointly attended by group members and the levels of collaboration seen in Orkney to achieve this are envied across Scotland and beyond.
