Orkney Islands Council is advising of waste and recycling arrangements over the upcoming Easter break and Easter Monday public holiday (6 April 2026).
Kerbside waste and recycling collections
These will run as normal on Good Friday and on the Monday public holiday (6 April)
Arrangements for our Household Waste and Recycling Centres are as follows:
- Hatston HWRC - open as normal Saturday and Sunday, closed (as normal) Monday 6 April
- Garson HWRC - open as normal Saturday and Sunday, closed (as normal) Monday, 6 April
- St Margarets Hope recycling centre - open as normal, including on Monday 6 April
- Cursiter recycling centre - closed Monday 6 April
- Chinglebraes open as normal for trade customers, including Monday, 6 April
Please remember, our household waste and recycling centres are very popular on weekends, so if you are having a clear out this Easter, you may want to consider making your trip to the tip on a weekday.
Remember Hatston, Bossack and Garson will be closed on Easter Monday (6 April), as per normal for a Monday.
