Waste and recycling arrangements during Dounby and County shows

OIC is advising the public that its household waste and recycling facilities at Hatston, Garson, Bossack, Cursiter, St Margarets Hope HWRCs sites will all be closed on Thursday 7 August due to the Dounby Show day public holiday in Orkney.

However, the Council’s bin lorries will be out and about as usual on Dounby Show Day, completing kerbside bin collections for householders and trade, for both waste and recycling.

Chinglebraes waste handling centre will also be be open on 7 August for trade customers.

For County Show day on Saturday 9 August, the Council's Hatston and Garson household waste and recycling sites will be open as usual, as will the recycling centre in St Margarets Hope. All other tips will be closed as per the usual weekend opening times.
