The Orkney Islands Council (SSEN Various Roads) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users while RJ McLeod, on behalf of SSEN, carry out utility works.

The Order will be in operation from Sunday 1 March to Monday 31 August 2026. The effect of the Order will be to close (1) Germiston Road, Stenness, (2) Wardhill Road, Stromness and (3) Brownstown Road, Stromness, when required. Vehicles may be subject to delays and a reduced speed limit of ten, twenty or thirty miles per hour. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.
