The Orkney Islands Council (Road Operations) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users while carriageway maintenance works are carried out.
The Order shall be in operation from Friday 17 April 2026 to Thursday 31 December 2026, and its effect will be to close the roads specified in the Schedule below, when required. Traffic will be subject to delays and to possible speed restrictions of ten, twenty or thirty miles per hour. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.
