The Orkney Islands Council (Kirkwall BID Halloween Fancy Dress Parade) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during the Kirkwall BID Halloween Fancy Dress Parade.

The Order will be in operation on Saturday 31 October 2026 between the hours of 13:00 and 16:00 and its effect will be to close the roads and car park specified in the Schedule below, all in Kirkwall, when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road and/or car park are closed.

Schedule Referred To (all roads and car park in Kirkwall):

Albert Street; Bridge Street; Bridge Street Wynd; Broad Street;
Broad Street car park;
Castle Street (from car park exit to Broad Street); Laing Street;
Palace Road (from Watergate to Broad Street); St Olaf’s Wynd;
Tankerness Lane (one way section only); Victoria Street; and
Victoria Road (From Watergate to Victoria Street).
