The Orkney Islands Council (KIRKWALL AND STROMNESS STREET REPAIRS) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users while Orkney Islands Council’s operational team carry out essential road maintenance works.

The Order will be in operation from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.The effect of the Order will be to close the roads specified in the Schedule below, when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a length of road is closed.

Schedule Referred to:
Alfred Street; Dundas Street; Ferry Road; Graham Place; John Street; Ness Road, South End; and Victoria Street, all Stromness. 

Albert Street; Bridge Street; Main Street; Tankerness Lane; and Victoria Street, all Kirkwall.
