The Orkney Islands Council (Kings Baton Relay No2) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during the Kings Baton Relay event.

The order will be in operation on Saturday, 11 July 2026 between 1300 and 1630. The effect of the Order will be to close Bridge Street Wynd; Laing Street; St Olaf’s Wynd; and West Tankerness Lane, all Kirkwall, between the hours and on the day stated above. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.
