The Orkney Islands Council (High Level Surveys) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during high level inspections / surveys and maintenance works to be carried out on various buildings.

The Order will be in operation from Monday 11 March 2024 to Friday 26 April 2025.The effect of the Order will be to close (1) Broad Street, from Castle Street to Palace Road; (2) Broad Street Car Park; (3) Council Offices Car Park; (4) East Kirk Car Park; (5) Mill Street, from No 3 Mill Street to Council Offices Car Park; (6) Palace Road; (7) School Place; and (8) Watergate, from Palace Road to Buttquoy Place, all Kirkwall, when required.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road or car park is closed.
