The Orkney Islands Council (Cruise Liners) Temporary Closure Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users when cruise liner passengers are visiting Kirkwall.

The Order will be in operation from 2 April 2026 to 13 October 2026 and its effect will be to (1) close Bridge Street and Albert Street, Kirkwall, between the hours of 10.00 and 16.00 on the dates specified in Schedule 1 below; and (2) suspend parking in West Castle Street, Kirkwall, between the hours of 00:01 and 21:00 on the dates specified in Schedule 2 below.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.
