The Orkney Islands Council (Cruise Liners No 3) Temporary Closure Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users when cruise liner passengers are visiting Kirkwall.

The Order will be in operation from 14 July 2026 to 27 September 2026 and its effect will be to close Albert Street, Bridge Street, Bridge Street Wynd, Laing Street and St Olaf’s Wynd, all Kirkwall, between the hours of 10.00 and 16.00 on the dates specified in Schedule 1 below.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.
