The Orkney Islands Council (Circet UK) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users while Circet UK, on behalf of Openreach, carry out utility works for the R100 Project.

The Order will be in operation from Wednesday 1 April 2026 to Wednesday 30 September 2026. The effect of the Order will be to close the roads specified in the Schedule below, when required.

Traffic controls may be in operation in any of the lengths of road specified in the Schedule hereto. Vehicles using these lengths of road will be subject to delays and to possible speed restrictions of either ten miles, twenty miles or thirty miles per hour. Vehicular traffic may also be restricted to using one lane of the carriageway.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a length of road is closed.
