The Orkney Islands Council (Carters Park Road, Willowburn Road and Willow Road to Thoms Street Footpath, All Kirkwall) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users while Circet UK, on behalf of Openreach, lay new ducting and construct new access chambers. The Order will be in operation from Thursday 8 October 2026 to Saturday 17 October 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to close (1) Carters Park Road, from numbers 2 to 10; (2) Willowburn Road, from Queen Street to Carters Park Road; and (3) the Link footpath from Willow Road to Thoms Street (to the rear of 2 to 24 Garrioch Street), all Kirkwall, when required.
Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a length of road and footpath are closed.
