Temporary Closure of Roads in Stromness for Stromness Shopping Week Events 2026

Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to the effect that, in connection with various Stromness Shopping Week events, the roads in Stromness specified in the Schedule hereto will be closed between the hours on the dates all as specified in the said Schedule.
Between Tuesday, 21 July 2026 to Saturday, 25 July 2026, there will be (1) a temporary suspension of The Orkney Islands Council (Pierhead, Stromness) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2014 and (2) the introduction of a temporary one way traffic order to enable traffic to drive in an easterly direction from Victoria Street, Stromness to Ferry Road, Stromness. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed. Emergency service vehicles are exempt from the prohibition.
