Temporary Closure of Roads in Kirkwall for Kirkwall City Pipe Band Parades

Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users while the Kirkwall City Pipe Band hold parades in Kirkwall.

The order will be in operation on the dates and times in the Schedule hereto and its effect will be to close (1) Albert Street, between its junctions with Laing Street and Broad Street; (2) Broad Street, between its junction with Albert Street and Palace Road; and (3) Castle Street, from Broad Street to car park exit on Castle Street, all Kirkwall. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.

SCHEDULE

Saturday 23 May 2026 from 18:30 until 20:30.

Saturday 13 June 2026 from 18:30 until 20:30.

Saturday 18 July 2026 from 18:30 until 20:30.

Saturday 22 August 2026 from 18:30 until 20:30.

Saturday 5 September 2026 from 18:30 until 20:30.
