These sessions are designed to offer practical, accessible support to help residents build confidence and stay safe in an increasingly digital world
Established in 1998, AbilityNet is a pioneering UK charity transforming the lives of older and disabled people and working with organisations of all types and sizes to build a digital world that is accessible to all
Ewan Kennedy, Digital & Connectivity Officer, said: " Digital skills and online safety are now essential for everyday life, but we know that people in our island communities often face additional barriers when things go wrong or when they’re unsure where to turn for support. By taking these sessions out across the Isles during CyberScotland Week, we’re making it easier for residents to get trusted, practical advice on everything from spotting scams to staying connected during the PSTN switch‑off. We aim to give people confidence, whether that’s with their devices, their broadband, or their digital safety -and help to ensure no one in Orkney is left behind as services continue to move online.
