Orkney 2025 – Car Parking Changes
Date: 10 July 2025
Time: 09:00

Orkney Islands Council has issued a reminder to drivers about important changes to Council car park arrangements during the upcoming Orkney 2025 International Island Games.
In order to support some the events taking place as part of the Games, there will be restrictions in place in terms of vehicles entering and exiting the following car parks on the following dates and times:
- All car parks on Ferry Road, Stromness will be closed between 08.00 and 17.00 on Sunday 13th July. All cars currently parked there should be removed as soon as possibe to provide adequate space for the smooth running of Triathlon event.
- Dounby School car park will be closed between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday 14th July.
- Castle Street, St Magnus and Gunns Close Car Parks between 08.00 and 19.00 on Friday 18th July.
Drivers are advised it would be best not to use any of these car parks during the given time periods. Your vehicle would need to remain in the car park for the duration of this period whilst events take place on the adjacent section of public road and any vehicles parked in these car parks – and not displaying a valid ticket – would then be liable to a fine.
