Looking for ways to keep the family entertained during the October school holidays? Orkney Islands Council has you covered with an exciting programme of activities running throughout the autumn break.
The Council's Sport and Leisure Team are working with a range of partners, local groups and organisations to provide something for everyone to participate in locally.

Swimming activities at Stromness Swimming Pool
- Learn to Swim Week (13-17 October)
- Family Fun Sessions
- Fun Sessions for ages 5-15 (half pool)
- Parents & Toddlers sessions for under 5s (half pool)
- Inflatable Sessions
DJ Skills Workshops at Orkney Youth Café Free workshops for ages 12+ on 14, 15, 21 and 22 October. Learn mixing, beat matching, playlist creation and explore electronic music genres.
Orkney Rugby Football Club camps at KGS Pitch Free sessions running 21-23 October for Rookies (P1-3), Minis (P4-7) and Seniors (S1-6).
ASN Multi Sports Free session on 17 October at Kirkwall Grammar School for under 18s.
Orkney Library & Archive activities Drop in during opening hours throughout the holidays for autumn and Halloween-themed crafting, book displays, treasure hunts, Lego and sensory room activities.
