Kirkwall care home planning event

Date: 22 January 2018

Time: 10:31

An event this week (Tuesday 23 January) will give people the opportunity to engage with the first stage of the planning process for the new Kirkwall Care Home.

The aim of the project is to provide a purpose-built, high-quality care home as a replacement for St Rognvald House.

The drop-in session at the St Magnus Centre takes place from 12 noon to 19:00. On view will be a plan of the site at Soulisquoy where the care home will be built, with members of the team involved in the project on hand to answer questions.

The plan will also show infrastructure layouts for potential future housing on the wider site.

The next stage involves the detailed design of the care home. Plans for this will go on show at a later date - when feedback will be invited from the public.

The facility is due to be completed in 2021.
