Orkney Islands Council is holding a recruitment event this month.
The event focuses specifically on the job areas where the Council has most vacancies - in catering, cleaning and care.
Taking place on April 19 in the Kirkwall Town Hall from 12.00 - 15.30, there will be staff on hand from these services as well as the Council HR team to answer any queries.
Those coming along will be able to apply and be informally interviewed for some of the jobs that are currently vacant in these areas, as well as sign up for supply work and for alerts for the myjobscotland website where all OIC vacancies are advertised.
Staff from the local Job Centre will also be on hand to provide advice.
Hayley Green is the Council’s is Head of IT and Facilities, which includes catering and cleaning services. She said: "As Orkney's biggest employer, we receive nearly 300 job applications every month - but there are some job areas where we struggle to recruit for a variety of reasons. By bringing all these services together under one roof, we felt we might be able to engage folk who might not necessarily have thought about working for the Council before."
