Draft Stromness South End Development Brief

Public Consultation: 26 July to 20 September 2023

The draft Stromness South End Development Brief consultation document provides a cohesive development strategy for 6 housing allocations within the settlement boundary of Stromness.

These housing allocations were allocated through the Orkney Local Development Plan 2017 and the requirement for a development brief is noted within Supplementary Guidance: Settlement Statements. These allocations and the location, face a number of development considerations that require a cohesive approach to ensure appropriate development, as outlined in the document.

The Development and Marine Planning Team are seeking your views on this draft consultation document and are therefore running an 8 week public consultation; please use this time to read the document and provide any comments you may have.

The consultation starts on 26 July and ends on 20 September 2023.  The Draft Stromness South End Development Brief can be viewed/downloaded via the button below.  A paper copy can be viewed at the Warehouse Building in Stromness.
