Business Festival programme unveiled

Date: 27 February 2018

Time: 03:53

Orkney is set to tap into a wealth of expertise and experience when the second Orkney Business Festival gets underway in three weeks’ time.

The festival will take place from 20-23 March and speakers include well-known local business owners and organisations, as well as experts from further afield. Topics will range from digital marketing and social media, to tips for recruiting, and how to sell internationally.

Building on the success of the first Orkney Business Festival in 2016, the event has been organised by Business Gateway Orkney, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Orkney Islands Council. Events take place in Kirkwall at the Orkney Arts Theatre, the Pickaquoy Centre and the St Magnus Centre.

Claire Kemp, Business Gateway Orkney manager, says: “Feedback from our first festival has helped us to design a festival programme with something for everyone, no matter what stage their business is at – from someone who is about to start, to someone who is wanting to grow, to those looking at options which will help future-proof more established businesses.

“Whatever stage you are at in business – new, well-established, or just with a germ of an idea – there will be something for you.”

Find out more about the workshops on offer by visiting the festival's  Eventbrite page where you can also book your place. All events and workshops are free and support for those travelling from the isles may be available.
