Applications open for Athlete Travel Award Scheme

Orkney Islands Council is now accepting applications for the Athlete Travel Award Scheme for the 2026/27 funding period.

The scheme is delivered in partnership with sportscotland and supports Orkney athletes by helping with travel and accommodation costs when training or competing on the mainland.

To be eligible, athletes must:

• Be a permanent Orkney resident
• Regularly train and compete outside Orkney
• Be selected to compete or train at regional, national or international level
• Compete in a sportscotland recognised sport
• Have support from their National Governing Body

Applications can be made online at www.orkney.gov.uk/atas and must be submitted by Sunday 1st March.
