Twelve community-led projects in Orkney have received financial support from the Orkney Fund. Just over £120k of funding was allocated to projects following a meeting of the Orkney Fund Board on 26 September 2025.

The Orkney Fund Board has welcomed the high level of expressions of interests received so far from local organisations for both feasibility study and capacity building projects. 

Community projects across Orkney are being invited to apply for the first round of funding to be made available through the £20m Orkney Fund – formerly known as the Orkney Towns Fund.  

Absolute confirmation has now been received from the UK Government that Orkney’s £20m funding allocation from the Long-Term Plan for Towns programme can be used for the whole of Orkney - not just Kirkwall.
