2025 Christmas Tree Lighting Events

Christmas tree lighting events are taking place across Orkney from tonight through to early December.
The events kick off this evening in Stromness and Stenness, with ceremonies then taking place in communities across the isles over the following two weeks.
Highlights include a special ceremony at St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall on Saturday 29th November, with an inside ceremony at 5pm followed by the outdoor lighting at 6pm.
All events are free to attend and everyone is welcome.
Orkney Islands Council would like to thank all the people and organisations who have helped organise and support these events across our communities.
