1. Apologies

Resolved to note that apologies for absence had been received from Mr D Stout.

2. Stronsay Fish Mart

Due to the sensitive nature of the following item, it was held in committee.

The Chair informed members that the Fish Mart Operator Agreement was due for discussion, and that updates of meetings between the Community Council Fish Mart Subgroup and the Fish Mart Operator had been given to members and included in previous Community Council General Meeting minutes.

Members then looked at the current Fish Mart Operator Agreement, making appropriate amendments, and it was:

Resolved:

  • A. To note the information provided.
  • B. That the Fish Mart Operator should maintain a minimum temperature of ten degrees Celsius throughout the building at all times.
  • C. That the Chair would forward the Clerk the date of the updated Fish Mart inventory and that the updated inventory would be attached to the Fish Mart Operator Agreement.
  • D. That all the other operational terms and conditions for Stronsay Fish Mart Hostel and Café would remain as before.
  • E. That the Clerk would prepare and forward a draft of the Fish Mart Operator Agreement to members and that the Fish Mart Subgroup would discuss this with the current Fish Mart Operator after which the Subgroup would report back to members at the Community Council meeting scheduled for 24 August 2026.

3. Draft Summer 2027 Ferry Timetables

Members heard that the next Transport Consultative Forum Meeting was due to be held on 19 August 2026 and that copies of the draft summer 2027 ferry timetables had been forwarded to members and that copies of these, inviting comments before 4 August 2026, had been displayed locally, and it was:

  • A. To note the information provided.
  • B. That, to date, neither the Clerk nor the Transport Representative had received any comments on the draft summer 2027 ferry timetables.
  • C. That the Chair would include copies of the draft summer 2027 ferry timetables on the Stronsay Community Council Facebook page.

4. Conclusion of Meeting

There being no further business, the Chair declared the meeting concluded at 19:38.
