Plans and documents needed to accompany a planning application
Please note that if we do not receive the necessary number or quality of plans and documents your application could be rendered invalid.
For all applications we need 2 copies of the following:
A scaled location plan edging the application site (the site of the proposed development and any associated curtilage) in red and any other land in the applicant’s ownership edged in blue. Preferred scales – rural locations: 1:10,000 or 1:2500; urban locations: 1:2500 or 1:1250.
A scaled site plan edging the proposed site in red. Preferred scales – 1:500 or 1:250.
Plans showing existing and proposed elevations of any new buildings, conversions and extensions. Preferred scales – 1:100 or 1:50. Any works to listed buildings or buildings in conservation areas will probably need plans to a greater detail (e.g., 1:10). Please check with us.
For all wind turbine applications we need 2 copies of the following (preferred scales of plans as above):
A scaled location plan edging the proposed turbine base(s) (including any anchor block(s)) in red and marking the line of the connecting cable track(s) in a red solid or dashed line, also, noting the grid reference for (each of) the proposed turbine(s). Any other land in the applicant’s ownership should be edged in blue.
A scaled site plan edging the proposed turbine base(s) and any anchor block(s) in red and marking the line of the cable track. It would be helpful if you could also mark the distance from the edge of the turbine base(s) to any existing nearby feature such as a fence or building.
Scaled elevation plans that clearly indicate the appearance and maximum height of the proposed turbine(s).
In addition to the above please supply 1 copy of technical specifications for the proposed turbine, in particular the manufacturer’s data on anticipated noise output levels.
