PUBLIC CONSULTATION / ORKNEY HARBOURS - LAND AT HATSTON / JULY 2026

INTRODUCTION

Orkney Islands Council welcomes you to this public consultation event in relation to a proposed major planning application for the change of use of land at Hatston, north-west of Kirkwall, to Orkney Islands Harbours operational use.

HRI Munro Architecture, on behalf of the Orkney Islands Council, has recently submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) with the Orkney Islands Planning department. This is a statutory requirement for major planning applications, where developers seek to engage with the community to assist in developing the proposals and taking into account concerns and opportunities.

Two public consultation events have been scheduled in July. Both events will be held at St Magnus Centre. The first event will take place on 8th July between 6pm-9pm and the second will be held on 22nd July between 6pm-9pm.
