Assessment of Priority
Each expression of interest will be assessed and pointed in accordance with the Council’s Policy governing the sale of affordable serviced sites.
The following table shows the criteria and conditions used for the qualification process. Applicants should tick all those that apply.

* Please provide details of the employment that you have secured.
For the purposes of this document, a key worker is considered to be someone employed or living in the area, in a post that provides an essential service to the wider community and where that service would be adversely affected without their presence. The term is often used in the United Kingdom in the context of those essential workers who may find it difficult to buy property in the area where they work.
Additional Information
You will be notified of how many points have been awarded for each area in which you have expressed an interest.
Should there be any material change in your circumstances, which might affect the points award, then please let us know in writing at the earliest opportunity.
Details of proposed serviced site development, indicating plot layouts and identifying affordable sites, will be sent to you, along with an application form, in respect of those areas in which an interest has been expressed.
Details of each development site will also be made available through the Council’s website.
Should you have any concerns regarding this expression of interest, then please contact the Housing Management team in the first instance.
In the event that you remain dissatisfied after contacting the Housing Management team, then please put your concerns in writing to the Executive Director of Education, Leisure and Housing at the Council Offices in Kirkwall.
