Dounby Local Place Plan Submission Statement

This document contains the supporting statement for the Dounby Community Plan: Local Place Plan, submitted to Orkney Islands Council in January 2025. It explains how the plan was prepared with Birsay, Sandwick and Harray community councils, its four themes—getting around, public spaces, forward planning and tourism—and how it reflects local and national planning policies. It also sets out proposed housing and service hub projects, community consultation held in summer 2024, and evidence that the required planning regulations were followed.
